Benda Carroll Isaacs Privette

Benda Carroll Isaacs Privette, 83, died on Monday, September 7, 2026 in Wilmington, OH. Born October 29, 1942 in Akron, OH, she was the daughter of the late William Owen and Martha "Louise" Cheatam Isaacs.

Benda proudly served her community as a nurse for many decades, caring for others with compassion and dedication. She was an active and faithful member of Highland Baptist Church, where she lovingly served in the youth ministry and ministered to seniors, both in their homes and by visiting those in nursing homes. Her faith and her desire to serve others were an important part of her life. Benda especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who brought her great joy. She and her husband, Kirby, also shared a love of traveling. Together, they enjoyed traveling in their camper, exploring the mountains and visiting many states, making wonderful memories along the way.

Benda is survived by her daughter, Donna Council (Sandy); grandson, Seth Council; twin sister, Linda Martin; brothers, Billy Isaacs, Harry Isaacs (Burba), Thomas Isaacs (Kathy); David Isaacs (Judy); Timmy Isaacs (Ann Marie); step-daughter, Jana Adams; step-son, Hugh Privette; step-grandchildren, Janee Hudson (Clint), Jillian Fields (Devin), Jeremy Adams, Lee Privette, and Matthew Privette (Victoria); step-great-grandchildren, Hailee, Ty, Ayden, Karissa, Lainey, Sadie, Adalynn, Ashton, Camdyn, Grayson, Morgan Lee, and Penelope and one step-great-great-grandchild, Kara.

In addition to her parents, Benda was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh "Kirby" Privette and sisters, Pat Osborne and Alice Ball.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 1:00pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. The family will receive friends Friday, an hour prior to the service from 12:00-12:45pm at the funeral home.
