Barbara Sue Duncan Stump

Barbara Sue Duncan Stump, age 72, died Sunday, September 6, 2026, at home. She was born on January 14, 1954, in Fayette County, West Virginia to the late Ishmael and Ruby Duncan.

She worked for the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Logistics division, where she retired in 2016. She loved butterflies, horses, and the Carolina Hurricanes but she especially loved her "fur babies" Buddy and Khloe.

She is survived by her children, Kevin (Patty) Stump and Kristie Newton; 7 grandchildren, Matthew (Madison) Newton, Logan, Laney, Lawson, Lincoln, Melaina, and Allie; great grandchildren, Bryson, Baylor, Bentley, Mason, Bella, and Harper.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Stump; sister, Glenda Mobley (Don); brother, Gary Duncan.

Her celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529.
