Austin Caleb Cook

Austin Cook, 32, was born in Dahlonega, Georgia, and passed away on July 10, 2026.

Austin was the beloved son of Fran Sutton, Vinny Pelosi, and Doug Cook. He was the cherished boyfriend of Brittany Pensyl, with whom he built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless treasured memories, including raising their beloved German Shepherd, Niki.

A skilled and dedicated tradesman, Austin was the proud owner and operator of a successful plumbing company. As a third-generation plumber, he took great pride in carrying on his family's tradition of hard work, integrity, and craftsmanship. His commitment to his customers and his profession earned him the respect of many.

Austin is survived by his mother, Fran Sutton and Vinny Pelosi of Garner; his father, Doug Cook of Miami, Florida; his girlfriend, Brittany Pensyl; his grandparents, Doug and Donna Cook of Dahlonega, Georgia, and Sandra Cowan of Kinston; as well as a large extended family, all of whom he loved deeply. His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with them.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Steve Sutton of Smithfield; his grandfather, Cleo A. Sutton of Goldsboro; and his grandfather, Thomas Creel of Greenville.

Austin found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time with Brittany, especially competing together in pool league. He loved the beach, even living in St. Thomas for two years where he survived two category five hurricanes. He had the gift of gab and loved to talk with anyone who had time to listen. He adored his beloved fur babies, who were treasured members of his family.

Austin will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his loyalty to those he loved, and the pride he took in both his family and his work. His kindness, laughter, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.
