Shirley Williams Midgette

GARNER - Shirley Williams Midgette, 85, died Sunday. She was the daughter of the late Alton Tillman Williams and Edna Smith Williams. A loyal, devoted and active member of Garner United Methodist Church, she served as President of the United Methodist Women, a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class and the Saints Alive Choir. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Garner Chapter 321 and the Literary Ladies Book Club.Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Garner United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Survivors include her sons, Howard Boyce Butch Midgette, Jr. and wife, Sherry and Joseph A. Midgette and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Cindy Midgette Wilbur and husband, Skip, Carol Carrie Midgette, Andy Midgette and Tommy Midgette, all of Garner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Boyce Midgette, Sr. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
