Ruth P. Stevens

LILLINGTON – Ruth Parker “Boofie” Stevens, 91, died Tuesday at Lawndale Manor.  A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Herman Stuart Parker and Lura Pearl Parker Flowers. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Thye family will receive friends following the service. Survivors include daughter, Alice S. Daniels of Raleigh; sons, Sefton Stevens of Wendell and Seavey Stevens of Durham; sisters, Mary P. McCarthy and Reba Avant; brother, Herman S. Parker; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Gordon A. Stevens, daughter, Carolyn S. Powell; son, Warren Stevens and grandson, Greg Stevens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 10225, Garner, 1706 W. Garner, Road, Garner, NC 27529.
