Robert Lee Morgan

Robert Lee Morgan, 80, passed away Wednesday night. A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late Eulas and Mattie Ellis Morgan. He had a personality that brought joy to your heart as he spent his Sunday mornings being the chief greeter at Abundant Life Worship Center. He loved his church, Thursday nights at Rons Barn and singing. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial will follow at Elevation Methodist Church Cemetery, Benson. Surviving are his daughters, Camberly M. Slaughter and husband, Ted of Dunn, Melinda M. Tyer and husband, Mick of Angier, sons, Kenneth L. Morgan and wife, Kay of Willow Spring, Eulas Morgan and fiance’ Karen of Raleigh, sister, Geraldine M. Creech of Benson, grandchildren, Jason Morgan and wife, Misty; Dustin Morgan and wife, Beth; Louie Slaughter and wife, Marie; Terrance Slaughter, Charlene S. Fann and husband, Justin and Jeremy Tyer; great-grandchildren, Trevor and Dylan Morgan, Mallory Morgan, Gavin and Gracyn Slaughter, step-great-grandchildren, Tyler Rocke and Briston Fann; daughter-in-heart, Wendy E. Morgan of Raleigh; granddaughter-in-heart, Brooke Coats; special friend from Rons Barn, Dina Coats.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Coats Morgan and grandson, Christopher Lee Tyer. Family will receive friends and family Friday from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Kenneth and Kay Morgan.
