Norris Ray Yates, 84, passed away Tuesday Oct. 15, 2019. Norris worked for N.C. State University as a building foreman, working in all phases of building maintenance. A native of Wake Co, he was the son of the late Henry Hubert Sr. and Eunice Yates. Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday Oct. 19, 2019 at Martha’s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery on Hwy. 751 in Apex. In addition to his parents Norris was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Yates; his first wife Joyce Yates; sister, Catherine Oakley; brothers, Henry Hubert Yates, Jr., Wilbert Yates and William Yates and Clyde Yates He is survived by his wife Donnie Raines Yates; daughter, Suzan Johnson and husband Ronnie; brother, David Yates; sister, Doris Ennis; step-daughter, Judy McLamb and husband Bruce; step-son, Dennis Penny; four grandchildren Kyle Johnson, Travis Johnson, Matthew Yates and Rachel Yates and five great-grandchildren, Keagan Johnson, Kade Johnson, Chloe Johnson, Everett Howard and Violet Howard and daughter-in-law Brenda Yates. The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner from 11:00 am- Noon.
