Mary Askew Stevens

Mary Alice Askew Stevens, 60, died Monday at Duke University Hospital. Born in Scotland County, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Julia Bracey Askew. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday at Garner United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Tuesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Bob Stevens; daughter, Alex Stevens of Garner; brother, Murray Askew and wife, Paige of Myrtle Beach, SC, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express a special thanks to nurses, Missy and Lisa in the Duke Neuro ICU for their exceptional care.
