Joseph E. Puskar

Raleigh - Joseph E Puskar, 65, passed away at home on January 26, 2012. A devoted husband, Dad, and PopPop, Joe passed away peacefully surrounded by family following a long period of declining health. Joe was born on January 16, 1947 in Calumet, PA to the late Steve and Irene Puskar. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his daughter, Allyson; his son, Eric and wife, L.A.; and granddaughter Nastya. Joe was a committed family man who devoted his life to serving others. A longtime member of the Raleigh Elks Lodge, he volunteered his time to raise money to support the many charities they serve. An avid sports fan, Joe enjoyed coaching Little League, attending Sanderson High School athletic events, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and NC State Wolfpack. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 200 Hillsborough St., Raleigh 27603 with inurnment to follow at St. Raphaels Catholic Church Memorial Garden and Columbarium, 5801 Falls of Neuse Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609.
