John Preston Gardner, Jr.

Angier - John Preston Gardner, Jr., 83, passed away on Saturday. A native of Harnett County, he was the son the late Preston and Bessie Talley Gardner.Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Pleasant Union Christian Church. Burial will follow at Angier cemetery.John is survived by his daughters; Sherrie Pope and husband, Hal of Raleigh, Melody Rogers and husband, Steve of Leland Il, Lonna Gardner of Albany NY, Candie Evans and husband, James of Louisburg; sons, John P. Gardner III and wife, Deanna of Greenville SC, Jim Gardner and wife, Ivvone of Morelia Mexico; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Christine Goodman Gardner; sister, Betty Easley; brother, Dan Gardner.The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.
