Janet D. Hickman

Garner- Janet Hickman 64, met her Heavenly Father Saturday morning. She graduated from Garner High School in 1972 and was the owner of the former White Oak Day Care Center. Janet was one of the most giving people. She loved helping others in anyway she could. She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. Janet leaves behind to cherish her memory one daughter, Erica Hickman Hughes; son-in-law, Marty Hughes of Greensboro; one brother; a host of sister and brother-in-laws; many special nieces, nephews, great friends and her beloved chihuahuas. She is finally reunited with her husband Daniel “Danny” Eric Hickman whom she was married to for 37 years before his passing in 2008. The family also wishes to thank the staff, nurses, and doctors at New Hanover Regional Medical Center for the amazing care. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00PM Saturday June 29, 2019 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, she asked that memorial contributions be made to the Wake County SPCA.
