James Ray Batts

James Ray Batts, 80 passed away Thursday afternoon at his home. He was the son of the late James Augusta and Alice Nicholson Batts. James was a faithful and active member of Temple of Pentecost for more than 40 years.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 18, 2022, at 4:00 pm, at Temple of Pentecost, 2312 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh, NC 27603. The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm prior to the service at the church. Interment at Montlawn Memorial Park will be Monday, September 19, 2022, at 9 am.

James is survived by his sons, Tommy Batts and wife, Kim and Mark Batts and wife, Tabatha; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette B. Johnson and Carolyn B. Price; and a brother, George Batts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Rose King Batts and a brother, Bobby Batts.
