Iva Mae "Polly" Thornton

Iva Mae “Polly” Thornton, 87, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021. A native of Harnett County, Polly was born October 2, 1933, to the late William Coleman and Iva Green Parker Pleasant. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 3:30PM at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 South Wilmington St. Raleigh, NC 27603. Polly is survived by her children, Rose Seymour, Marvin West and wife, Anita, and Donnie Kirby and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Amanda Miller, Donnie “Buddy” Kirby, Jr., Jonathon Kirby, and Ronnie Seymour; as well as 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Gerald Kirby; and grandchildren, Matthew Kirby, Paula Champion, and Kayla Marie Seymour.
