Howard “Red” Smith

Howard “Red” Smith, 85, passed away Feb. 11, 2017. Howard retired from Pine State Creamery. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday Feb. 15, 2017 at Fellowship Baptist Church Old Stage Rd. Raleigh. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Howard was preceded in death by his wife of 57 ½ years Thena Ivey Smith, and a brother John D. Smith. He is survived by his sons; Michael K. Smith and wife Denise, Craig A. Smith; sisters, Marie Smith Pope and Annie Louise “Polly” Parrish and husband Leron; grandchildren, Renee M. Conley and husband Greg, Caroline L. Gottfried and husband Christopher and Deanna E. Smith, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Transitions LifeCare 250 Hospice Cr.
