Fred L. Carraway

Fred L. Carraway, 74, passed away suddenly at home Thursday Sept. 3, 2020. A native of Wilson, he was the son of the late Delwood Carraway and Pearl Varnell Carraway, she survives. Fred was Associate Pastor at Hilltop Church on 401 south in Fuquay-Varina, where he and his wife Joan served as Outreach Ministers. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday Sept. 8, 2020 at Hilltop Church ( face coverings are encouraged) . There will be a Graveside service at Pineview Cemetery in Pinetops , N.C. on Wednesday at 11:00 AM (open to everyone and face coverings are encouraged). In addition to his father, Fred was preceded in death by a daughter, Dee Ann Carraway. Fred is survived by his wife of 54 years; Joan Mitchell Carraway; daughter, Sherri Clayborne and husband Anthony; son, Mike Carraway and wife Jane; mother, Pearl Varnell Carraway; sisters, Millicent Holloman and Jo Ann Carraway; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
