Edith Godwin Fields

RALEIGH - Edith Godwin Fields, 80, of 4213 Ruby Drive, died Thursday. She retired after 30 years as a supervisor in food service with Dorothea Dix Hospital. Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday at Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, A. B. Fields; sisters, Pearlie Johnson of Dunn, Frances Jernigan of Chester, SC, Lydia Warren of Raleigh and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Sheila Ivey. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3000 East Garner Road, Raleigh, NC 27610.
