Dorothy P. Barnes

RALEIGH – Dorothy Parrish Barnes, 90, passed away on Monday. Born in Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Jack Parrish and Irene Autry. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church, Raleigh. Burial will follow at Harnett Memorial Park, Lillington. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner, as well as from 1:00-2:00 pm on Saturday prior to the service at Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church, Raleigh. Survivors include her husband of 71 years, James Garley Barnes; daughter, Jenny Barnes Bowser; son, James Michael (Bobbi) Barnes; grandchildren, Shelly (James) Jackson, Jeremy Bowser, Matthew Barnes; great grandchildren, Paige Bowser, Thomas Jackson and Mason Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Parrish; sister, Inez Wood; and son-in-law, Jerry Bowser. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church.
