David E. Jernigan

David E. Jernigan, 65, passed away Saturday Dec. 5, 2020. A native of Buncombe Co, he was the son of the late Casper Jernigan and Doris F. Davis Jernigan, she survives. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM Friday Dec. 11, 2020 at Inwood Baptist Church Cemetery, on Lake Wheeler Rd. in Raleigh. (Formerly the Point Church) Please wear a face covering and follow social distancing guidelines. In addition to his father; David was preceded in death by a brother, Joey Lyn Jernigan. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Debra Holt Jernigan; daughters, Ashley J. McLamb and husband Joseph and Nicole J. Foster and husband Michael; son, David Scott Jernigan and wife Erin; mother, Doris Davis Jernigan; sister, Deborah Currin and husband Nelson; brother, Casper “Ricky” Jernigan and wife Teresa; granddaughter, Scarlett Faye Jernigan; sister-in-law, Kathy Sorrell and husband Frankie and a large extended family. David will lie in state Thursday Dec. 10, from 12-5 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner, for those wishing to pay their respects and sign the guest register. (No family will be present).
