Dalton “Shorty” Deans

RALEIGH- Dalton “Shorty” Deans, 72, of Raleigh NC Shorty spent his last hours showered in love as he was ushered from this world to his new heavenly home, Sunday February 26, 2017. After you take your final breath and are no longer of this Earth, what remains is the imprint you left in the minds and hearts of those you touched. The resulting stories told of how you lived your life is your Legacy. Shorty Deans was an incredible man with a personality big enough to fill the sky, and enough love in his heart to fill an ocean. He loved his family, friends, the community, and God passionately. To say he was a generous man, is an understatement. He gave as passionately as he loved. His reassuring strong presence will be missed by those who loved him dearly, his wife Sally, his children, his grandchildren, that gave “Papa Shorty” more happiness than can be expressed in words, his beloved extended family and treasured friends. But they, as well as the many others he touched, will carry with them the priceless items that survived his death…precious memories of him, valuable lessons he taught, and the pride they have in the man he was.  “He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap bountifully” 2 Corinthians 9:6- Shorty Deans sowed bountifully. His harvest, countless people that love him and will carry on his good works, and his Legacy…Love, Faith, Hope and Generosity, for generations to come. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. The burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh with military honors. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
