Alfred C. Smith

RALEIGH – Alfred C. Smith, 95, passed away Thursday. Born in Harnett County, he was the son of the late Daniel and Pearl Mills Smith. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner. Burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the funeral home; and other times at the home. In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by his first wife, Eula Smith; daughter, Sherry S. Barham; son, Danny Smith; and sisters, Zelie Smith and Lela S. Oliver. He is survived by his wife, Marie H. Smith; daughters, Teresa S. Nine of Franklinton, Melanie C. McDowell and husband, Mike of Angier; sons, Rev. Charlie Carroll and wife, Mickey of Smithfield, Mark Carroll and wife, Chris of Oxford; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.
