    To the Upchurch family
On behalf of the staff of the North Carolina State Capitol, I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to you on Dan’s death. He was a gentleman, always impeccably dressed and full of life and humor. Some of our docents still wear the red blazers that he so graciously supplied during his first time of volunteering here. He was a true professional and gave us great support by working on the weekends, sharing his love of this building with students and the many visitors who come in. He has been missed and I know that he will be missed by his family forever. We’re keeping his family in our hearts and prayers. Love to you. Cathy Johnson
