Stephen “Curly” Hiltbruner

CLAYTON-Stephen “Curly” Hiltbruner, 59, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017.

A memorial service will be be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the Bryan-Lee Chapel in Garner. In celebration of Curly’s life, food and fellowship will immediately follow at the Garner Woman’s Club: 230 US Hwy 70 West, Garner.

He was born in Tallahassee, FL on December 1, 1957 to the late Earnest Hiltbruner and Noreen Maher Hiltbruner. Curly worked for 32 years with Jerry Wagoner Builders. An avid gardener, Curly was very proud of his tomatoes and the blue ribbons won at the NC State Fair. He enjoyed reading, fishing , his meticulously kept yard, and time spent with the cat named Angus.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory a loving family which includes his wife, Belinda Edwards Hiltbruner; mother, Noreen Maher Hiltbruner of Raleigh; step-mom, Janette Hiltbruner of Weaverville, NC; son, Dustin Hiltbruner of Waynesville; brothers, Mark Hiltbruner and wife, Carolyn of Pierre, SD, Brian Hiltbruner of Raleigh; nephew, Kelly Hiltbruner; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; and a brother-in-law, Raymie Edwards.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the USO of North Carolina: 2610 John Brantley Blvd., Morrisville, NC, 27560.

    My heart goes out to you. Very sad news when Craig called me. I will always remember talking to him at all the cook outs we had, also when he came over when we were working on Craig and Tina house, he would just jump in and help. Steve was a good man, my pleasure to get to know him.

    Sorry we did not get to speak to you today during the services for your husband!! We saw Donna & Tim & Jan Brown as well as Jerry Lane, George Drewett and Mike Gay!! Did not know that Billie Johnson was related to you; she was a friend of my mother’s (Marie) and a friend of Marie’s from many years ago!! Our thoughts and prayers are with you during these difficult days!!
