  1. Phillip Ayscue

Thanks for everything, Mr Richard. You were a great Coach, Mentor and friend. My all-time favorite mailman who could always make me laugh and never faulted me for being an awful baseball player. The Ayscue Family appreciates your decades of community service. Garner is so incredibly fortunate to have had you.

  2. Michael Touchon

My Friend, He has gone to prepare a place for us. Your friendship will be remembered along with your stories, tales, and antics. We will see each other again and celebrate God’s wonders. You will be missed.

  3. Ron Bullock

I am sorry sorry to hear of this, I considered Richard to be a true friend and we had a lot of fun during the Rodeo years in Pilot. He was the person that taught me how to organize and run our rodeo which ran for 15 years in our community of Pilot. Richard you will be greatly missed by so many people you influenced.

  4. Marian Brantley Neese

Today my flag is at half-mast in honor and memory of a Richard Gulley. It is indeed a sad day for Garner and Panther Branch Township.
We moved to Garner in the early seventies and learned quickly he was a man of actions. He was helping the Garner Fire Dept sell BBQ. Later we moved to what is now called Crowder Rd, which was a muddy mess. Richard played a major role in getting our road paved so the Rescue squad could get through quickly.
Richard Gulley was a good man, a man of quality and distinction. My family was blessed to have known him.

To Richard’s family – I remember him quite well as he was a mail carrier in Garner also (Jack Sauls). I graduated from Garner High in 1953 and married Harry Rowland from Willow Springs in 1955. I can remember Jack speaking many kind words about Richard. Please accept my condolences and pray that Richard is now at peace.

Sincerely, IlaFaye Sauls Rowland, High Point NC
