Kathy R. Guy, 54, passed away Sunday at her residence. A native of Portsmouth, VA. she was the daughter of the late Jack Edward and Kathleen Dale Petit Ballard.

Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Bruce E. Guy; daughter, Tammy Baker and husband, Jonathan; son, Bryan Guy; sister, Carole Brady and husband Tom; grandchildren, Alexis Guy, Bentley Guy and Emma Baker and Jaxon Baker and extended family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers  Donnie Ballard and Randy ballard.

A Memorial service will be held Friday at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.

The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home immediately after the service.

    We are very sorry for your loss.

    Oh so many years ago since the two families camped on Harris Lake and some strangers came driving down the old abandoned road by our camping spot. The two Bruce’s told the women and children to hide in woods and they went to confront. It was families having fun and didn’t realize they were close to driving into the lake. That was a great time we had. We will always remember her smile. Our hearts go out to you in your loss.
