WILLOW SPRING – Johnny Ray Myatt, 71, passed away on Friday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. A native of Wake County, he was the son of thelate Ethridge and Margaret Privette Myatt. Johnny Ray was drafted into the US Army and did his basic training at Fort Jackson. He proudly served the rest ofhis time in Munich, Germany. After serving in the Army he worked as the plumbing and mechanical Superintendent for large construction projects. Those projects included Womack Army Medical Center, ECU School of Medicine, the VA Hospital in Asheville and the Kelly Springfield Tire Plant in Fayetteville. Following retirement,he was proud to be a fulltime Tobacco Farmer.

 Johnny Ray is survived by his wife, Louise Reardon Myatt; daughter, Denise M. Callaway and husband, Patrick of Fuquay-Varina and a sister, Gloria Jean Briggs and husband Ed of Fuquay-Varina; nieces, Kimberly Sears and husband, Ira; Heather Baker and husband, Elliot; great nieces, Kaitlyn Baker and Lilly Sears; dear friends, Sammy Warren and Eriel Saunders.

 In addition to his parents, Johnny Ray is preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Lynn Myatt; sister, Jerry Lee Smith and a brother, Ronald “Pee Wee” Myatt.
