  1. Teresa and Richard Byrd

    A wonderful Man of Christ!

  2. Dawn Beasley Sears

Uncle Jim, you are already so deeply missed. What a great day we had Wednesday reminiscing about the good ole days and just hanging out. And Thursday was a good day too. That’s the day you went to your temporary home before the Lord took you to your forever home this morning. I know you were so excited to see what you have learned and heard about for so many years and taught to so many people, especially the children at church, known as Heaven.
I am so happy for you to be rejoicing, singing your praises and finally be reunited with your wife, Aunt Ed and your son, Douglas James. You may be gone from us here and we can’t see each other anymore, but you will never be forgotten and will always be in my heart. This is not a goodbye forever, but just a simple bye for now.
I love you to the moon and back and miss you terribly.
    Love Ladybug, (Dawn)

What a great video tribute! I only became acquainted with “Mr Jim” about a year ago through seeing him at Bojangles many mornings for breakfast. He was a very sweet and friendly man who shared his faith for salvation through Jesus Christ. During his illness when we spoke on the phone, he reminded me to share the message of salvation with “all the boys” at Bojangles to insure their salvation as well.
    Will do Mr Jim.
Enjoy your heavenly home. I will see you again!

  4. Ruth Fish

So sorry to hear of Jim’s death. He will certainly be missed at Fellowship Baptist Church. Edna was my son’s Sunday School teacher at one point. She was also in my Sunday School class at one time.

  5. Dianne Hudson

Jim was such a wonderful companion to my Mother, Lillian McLeod. He kept her occupied and in service to the church before she became unable to attend. Praying for peace for you all.

‘Jim Byrd’, as we all called him, took SUCH good care of our mom Lillian “Mickey” McLeod — they were good for and to each other for many years. He was a faithful leader at Fellowship for many years. Jim Byrd was commitment and loyalty personified. I know the family is at peace knowing he’s celebrating in Heaven with Ms. Edna and his family and MY family that are there now too. Sweet memories to his family. — Sue McLeod Hodgin
