GARNER – Casey Elizabeth Snead, 40 years old, passed from this Earth into an eternal heaven on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at her home in Garner, North Carolina. Casey valiantly fought brain cancer for 24 years. It was her strong will to live and love for her family that carried her through the toughest times.
Casey was known for her ease of conversation with even total strangers. She possessed a contagious smile. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the hearts of many. Yet even throughout her own struggle with cancer, she made time to spend with others and bring a smile to everyone that met her. She especially loved her Mommy and Daddy.
Casey was born on March 6, 1980, in Bristol, Tennessee. She is survived by her parents, Terry Snead and Tenita Mitchell; sister, Sarah Outen and husband, Chris; niece, Macy Outen, and nephew, Jaxson Outen who were all loved deeply by her. She loved supporting them in everything they did. Casey is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Joyce Mitchell, aunt and “big sister”, Tracy Rowland, and aunt, Alicia McGlothlin. Many cousins are left to treasure her memory also.
Casey was preceded in death by her sister, Krista Snead; maternal grandfather, Harold Mitchell; paternal grandparents, Lee and Shelby Snead and a host of great-grandparents and other family members are also welcoming her into heaven.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support in many heart-felt forms. The prayers, meals, cards, calls, and even random acts of kindness through total strangers have carried us through this time. With respect to the necessary COVID guidelines, there will not be a public service at this time. A Celebration of Casey’s life may be planned at a later time. Casey loved to love on people so we hope that you will take this time to spread love and remember her smile.
In Casey’s honor, donations may be made to the Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department at 13279 Cleveland Rd, Garner, NC 27529. This special group of volunteers always eagerly assisted with Casey.
