Betty initially worked for the NC Department of Revenue before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was devoted to family and maintaining the home especially during Bob’s 39 years of service in the railroad industry. Betty loved to cook and bake for her family and friends, setting a formal table for special occasions, birthdays and holidays such as Thanksgiving. In addition to maintaining “Betty’s Kitchen” she enjoyed her yard, flowers, traveling with family and life’s simple pleasures such as a colorful sunset and bright full moon.

Bob and Betty started attending Hayes Barton Baptist Church in the 1960’s following their return to Raleigh and it became their permanent church home thereafter.

Special thanks to The Foley Center at Chestnut Ridge, Blowing Rock, NC and Medi Home Health & Hospice, Boone NC for their care and compassion during Betty’s final months with us.
