Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. in the Hayes Barton Baptist Church parlor, 1800 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC with a service to follow at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel. Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. in the Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.

Survivors include: son, Robert O. Weathers, Jr. and wife Leigh Ann of Boone, NC; grandchildren, Madeline Weathers Jarred and husband Justin of Clarksville, TN; Robert O. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Grantland Bradley and sister, Camilla Bradley Norris (Polly).

Betty initially worked for the NC Department of Revenue before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was devoted to family and maintaining the home especially during Bob’s 39 years of service in the railroad industry. Betty loved to cook and bake for her family and friends, setting a formal table for special occasions, birthdays and holidays such as Thanksgiving. In addition to maintaining “Betty’s Kitchen” she enjoyed her yard, flowers, traveling with family and life’s simple pleasures such as a colorful sunset and bright full moon.

Bob and Betty started attending Hayes Barton Baptist Church in the 1960’s following their return to Raleigh and it became their permanent church home thereafter.

Special thanks to The Foley Center at Chestnut Ridge, Blowing Rock, NC and Medi Home Health & Hospice, Boone NC for their care and compassion during Betty’s final months with us.
