Augustus Marion Jones, Jr.

Augustus Marion Jones, Jr, 86, died Wednesday Sept. 12, 2018. A native of Wake Co. he was the son of the late, A.M. (Harry) and Rennie Jones. Marion retired from Brinks Armored Transportation where he worked as a driver.

Private graveside will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Swift Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Penny Rd. Raleigh. . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Jones and a grandson Michael J. Leslie, Jr.

Surviving, daughter, Karen Leslie, granddaughter, Kristen Ayscue; great grandchildren, Jason Earl-Thomas Ayscue “JET”, Kaleigh Michael Ayscue, Isabella Marion Ayscue, companion, Joanne Rich, several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers make contributions to either Shepherd’s Table Soup Kitchen 121 Hillsborough St. Raleigh, NC 27603 or N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission 1712 Mail Service Ctr. Raleigh, NC 27699-1712, in his memory.

    I worked at NCNB when you Dad was with Brinks.
    He was a wonderful man.
    We had many conversations and I know how much he loved you and you son.
    My Aunt Dot Smith was his friend many years ago.
    I only knew your mom briefly you look beautiful just like her.
    My heart is very sad to hear of this new but your Memorial video was very touching.

    I did not know Marion well, but I did befriend him at church a few years ago. We were always happy to see that one another made it to the Sunday service. I will miss seeing him.
