Bryan-Lee Website Picture

09/16/1972 ~ 09/08/2017

GARNER – Kristopher Ray Harrison, age 44, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 serving God and humanity as a flight nurse with the Duke University Health System on the Duke Life Flight team. Kris was born September 16, 1972 in Wayne County, grew up in Mount Olive, NC, and had lived in Garner, Cleveland Community, for the last 19 years.  He was a graduate of Southern Wayne High School (1990) and NC State University (1995).  He earned his RN degree from Wake Tech (1997) and was a proud member of the Duke Life Flight Team for several years.  As an avid sportsman and outdoorsman, there wasn’t much Kris did not enjoy or did not try.  He especially enjoyed Spartan races, mud runs, camping, hunting, all things NC State, and activities that included his daughters.  He was a resident of the Adams Point community where he enjoyed gatherings with friends and neighbors, always having a funny story to tell or a practical joke to pull.  As much as he loved his job and being with friends, he loved his God and his family more. He will be missed by many.

Kris is survived by his wife, Kasey Hobson Harrison; daughters, Abigayle Faith and Lilly Grace all of the home; his father and step-mother, Rev. Frank R. Harrison and Barbara Lancaster; sister, Amy W. Witherington and nephew, Drew Witherington all of Mount Olive, NC; sister-in-law, Jeanne Williams of Pensacola, FL;  and aunt, Judy Beaman Craft of Walstonburg, NC.  Also surviving are his father and mother-in-law, Lynn and Gemey Hobson of Surf City, NC; brother-in-law, Stacy Hobson and wife, Michelle; nephew, Conner Hobson, niece, Caylee Hobson all of Fuquay-Varina, NC; and life-long friend, Dr. Mark Sasser of Mount Olive, NC.

He was predeceased by his mother, Vivian Beaman Harrison of Mount Olive, NC and his brother, Chris Williams of Pensacola, FL.

A memorial service to celebrate Kris’ life, led by the Rev. Almond Warrick, will be held at Cleveland Community Church (C3 Church), 8246 Cleveland Road, Clayton, NC on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will follow the service.

An Education Trust has been established for Kris’ girls in lieu of flowers.  Contributions may be sent to Frank Harrison: 118 Ridgecrest Drive, Mount Olive, NC  28365; or gifts may be made to the charity of your choice in Kristopher’s memory.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Online condolences may be directed to the family by visiting www.bryan-leefuneralhome.com.

From one nurse family to another. So sad to hear of a fellow in flight helping others, while being called home has occurred. He was wrapped among the hands of God in that flight, the helicopter brought you him for closure. God took him before he knew. God will take you through your new flight and guide your fight. He will keep you and your children in his arms. He will take you on your flight home to Kris. Let him, let god, comfort and guide you in your flight to see Kris.

    Kasey and family,
We can not imagine your pain from this loss. Even though we did not know your husband/father personally we now know how amazing of a spirit he has through his opouring of love in the community. We are praying for you daily and even though right now it’s hard to remember the happy times through the tears, you will one day be able to smile and laugh again at all the happy times. The heart is very hard to heal and in time, even though it will never get easy, I promise in time You will be able to talk much more about him without the hurt. We are praying for you all daily. God is amazing and just got another amazing angel to watch over you!

  34. Meryl

What a handsome, self-sacrificing man, Mr. Harrison was. I am very sorry to read of his loss. With his accomplishments, and dedications, both in his professional life and personal one, he was an amazing man! I won’t pretend to know what you’re going through, but what has helped me deal with the loss of those I love, is turning to the Scriptures, something that has been a real source of comfort. One Scripture that gives me hope is John 5:28, 29 which says, ” Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out .” I hope that this verse will also comfort you and, I hope you and your family can get through this difficult time. Please accept my condolences for the loss of your beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Sincerely, Meryl, jw.org – healingwordsforu@gmail.com
