| Raleigh- Gaynelle Brown Hudson, 68, died Tuesday at City of Oaks Nursing Center in Raleigh. She was born in Mamers, NC and is the daughter of the late Oris and Algie Spence Brown. She faithfully served her Lord and Savior as Sunday School Teacher for youth and adults, Youth Counselor at the NC Baptist Assembly, choir member, Acteens leader and WMU Director in local area churches that included Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers, First Baptist in Erwin, Tabernacle, Calvary and Temple Baptist Church in Raleigh.
Her devoted and loving husband of 50 years, James Carl Hudson died yesterday, March 11, 2010.
Gaynelle is survived by her son, Douglas Hudson and wife Carol of Oreland, PA; daughter, Marcia Boseman and husband Perry of Raleigh; brother, Ross Brown of Lillington; sisters, Doralene Knight of Lillington, Barbara Koepp of Broadway, Trilby Batchelor of Sanford and Katrina Tankersley of Encinitas, CA; and grandson Alex Boseman of Raleigh.
Funeral services for Gaynelle and her husband James will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church, 1417 Clifton Street in Raleigh. Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Mamers, NC.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 12 Noon Saturday and have requested that memorial contributions be sent to Temple Baptist Church in memory of Gaynelle and James Hudson.
