GARNER—Anna Belle “Ann” Pearce, 85, of Garner, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 5, 2010. She was born on October 29, 1924 in Apex to the late Wyatt Harris and Pattie Emory Harris. In 1948, Ann married Junnie Matthew Pearce of Zebulon. Matt was the love of her life and during their 24 year marriage, they lived happily together in Raleigh, Wilson and finally Florence, South Carolina
In Florence, Ann enjoyed a long career in banking with Banker’s Trust and then Bank of America. After Matt’s death in 1972, Ann continued living and working in Florence where she had many dear friends, especially Shirley Greer. In 1989, Ann retired from Bank of America and then moved to Garner to be near her sister and her sister’s family.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Ann was predeceased by her sister, Helen Inez Metheny of Garner and her brother, Wylie Dowd Harris of Raleigh.
Ann was loved dearly by her niece, Betty Metheny of the home and her nephew, Richard Metheny of Raleigh, both of whom survive her and are left to cherish their many fond memories of Ann. Ann’s family and friends will always remember her as a gracious and charming lady with a loving and generous heart.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 pm Sunday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
