Faye Godwin Lovick, 69, born on November 17, 1940 to the late L.W. and Versel Godwin, died February 23, 2010. Faye grew up in Benson, NC and worked for CP&L and Corning Glass Works in Raleigh. She and Frank Lovick, her husband, were developers and builders from 1968 to the present. In her earlier years, she excelled at tennis, softball and even bowled a perfect 300 game for her team. She was very proud of her involvement with the preservation of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Johnston County, where her parents are interred.
Faye was preceded in death by a son, Brent Lovick; a brother, James Godwin and a baby sister.
Faye is survived by her husband of 50 years, Frank P. Lovick; son, Trent Lovick and wife, Melinda, and their children, Alexandra and Parker; daughter-in-law, Tam Lovick and her children, Marshall and Cole; sisters, Sarah Bennett, Vera Cotton, Loral Ammons; brothers, R.L. Godwin and L.W. Godwin, Jr. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Nickey Lovick and wife Pat, and their daughter, Morgan.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25th, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Bryan Lee Funeral Home at 831 Wake Forest Rd, Raleigh.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 26th at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Bryan Lee Funeral Home, Raleigh. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
